Get to Know Me
My name is Adesuwa (Ade) Igbineweka (she/her).
I am a career coach with a decade of experience in student development. I have an 18-year work experience in the non-profit and higher education fields.
I specialize in helping job seekers enhance their confidence in the job search process. With so many identities as a first. I am honored to support others who are first in their families to go to college, first time job seekers, job changers etc. As a first-gen college graduate and American, my life is one of service.
As a leader in the equity and access space, I believe in collectively challenging the status quo to be inclusive and equitable for a better world. Yes, it is difficult to talk about and address issues of race, gender and ability but it makes a difference when we do.
As a board member of the Career Counselor’s Consortium Northeast, I helped to create our first mentoring program to combat lack of diversity in this space.
Over the years, I have worked with adults with different abilities, college students, and adult students returning to school.
My work experience spans two continents, I completed a service year in Nigeria as a teacher and taught adult learners for another year. This experience reaffirmed my love for teaching and service.
